Bullying case kills oneself

In Japan there are more tragedies of suicide related to bullying case that is even causing chain reaction from one suicide to another.Another new big surprise of recent case is that Education ministry received several letters from students predicting that they 'll kill themselves soon.

I also experienced being bullied in my school days. However, the action I took at that time was totally different from students in such cases.I directly wrote a letter to the head teacher of my school that some students including me are worried by one helpless classmate and my teacher didn't do anything for us,which contributed in eliminating that bullying by putting that guy under strict control.I hope people suffering from bullying should become more open minded to take positive action like me instead of killing oneself.

SKip mandatory subject problem

In Japan there is one problem about high-school education recently that some school allow students to skip some mandatory subject for graduation that is not necessary for entrance exam.At first it was found only in one school, but it was disclosed that many schools all over Japan had same problem. Now schools are required their urgent corrective action. In this case, the most miserable victims are students themselves who are forced to learn in haste though next year's entrance exam will be held near the beginning of next year.My Alma mater must have had the same problem because we didn't have the subject such like engineering which in longer perspective caused disadvantage after I started working as an engineer.

Problem of Super Education i China

China has a drastic education system which enable excellent young children to have their grade skip and join senior classes, aiming at make the most of gifted student and contribute more efficiently to the country. However, one significant problem was found among some of these students who was applied to this system, that is they tend to be dropped behind after becoming adult to the great disappointment from people involved. The main reason was that they're too much treated well by their parents in order to concentrate only on their study that some of them have even difficulty in dressing clothes by themselves. The lesson of this issue must be we should refrain from being too much in a hurry whatever we do.

Practice of Email writing

Today I had an exchange of email with my friend in USA to discuss the plan to do when we visit them on next month.

Even though I only used simple words for the email,it was not easy task to finish writing because I considered much about several points of expression in detail not to give her a pressure for our visiting.Sometimes I find it much difficult than writing job related document that forces us to use much more difficult words.

I think English education in Japan should reorient more to such humane task rather than forcing us to remember as many vocabularies, so that we would become more considerate to others.

One drastic way of teaching

The drastic way of teaching English was introduced on the TV program. There was one English teacher who used to be very strict in the class for his students that didn't work well by offending them on the contrary. However, there was one turning point in his life that drastically change his style when he met one young teacher who teaches like playing games.Since then he started to introduce new style positively like letting some excellent students play a teacher's role instead.I definitely agree with this idea because we can learn many precious things from teaching others.

Excessive investment on one's children education

Education investment for children is getting excited year by year in spite of current economic recession according to last night's TV documentary.

The background of this fact lies in recent relaxation policy started by education ministry that reduced the volume of teaching curriculum for children.Accordingly parents became worried if their child's education is enough that drove them to let them go another prep school.

Another reason must be from what we call uncertainty theory. While one's child is too small,we tend to cherish infinite possibility on their children that allows them to spend as much money as possible. However,as their children get older, such silly parents realize they don't deserve their investment and start to refrain.

In my case I also experienced going to prep school in my elementary school days with few merit I realize for what I'm now.I wish such excessive investment for young children would be reoriented more to that for unemployed people.

How to improve entrance exam

At this time of the year when entrance examination season is at its hight,I always look forward to checking what this year's exam questions are in some major universities. The story about China's economy I picked up yesterday is also from them.
Common criticism for entrance exam is that entrance examination doen't make any sense because it has few relation with practical skill which students need in their future career. However, things seem to be changing recently by inducing English listening test or in-class essay exam. Therefore,I also find some useful materials out of exam questions though it already passed nearly 20 years since I sat for that exam.
One significant trend now is that there are fewer applicants for prestigious universities like Tokyo university while such students are more stability oriented like applying for medical university in order to secure certain skill. In my case I'm also graduated that university, but I also have no idea what skill I required there.
This trend must originally be brought from recent tough economic situation where unemployed rate is high and many graduates can't find job.Things seem to be similar in other Asian countries.
I hope education system including exam questions would improve its quality so that more young people can be as useful for the society as possible.
P.S.What I'm always wondering is there sometimes exsits wide gap between one's job performance and his past academic performance.I wish someone can show clear evidence for its reason.
